Another pain study by the University of Utah this past July focused on one 15 minute session of mindfulness or hypnotic suggestion read to the patient before surgery.
The mindfulness group had a 23% reduction in pain, and the hypnosis group experienced a 29% reduction – equivalent to the pain relief of 5 milligrams of oxycodone.
One brief 15 minute session! Imagine what you can learn to do for yourself with proper instruction. Hypnosis is a complement to traditional therapies and an alternative to chronic pain!
I need your help in my goal of educating others about the beneficial effects of hypnosis for pain relief. Please pass this information on to your friends and family. Talk to your doctors, write to your legislators. I’m happy to send them all the studies they need that illustrate the efficacy of hypnosis in pain management.
