Life is Like a River

I drove by the Mississippi River last weekend and thought life is like a river. It is the perfect metaphor for life.

A river narrows and widens, has turns and straightaways, the water can slow down, calm and quiet, or speed up like a rapid or even cascade over a waterfall.

Whether you enjoy your river or not depends on where you place your focus in the moment.

We all put our boats in the water at different places on the river of life.

It doesn’t matter where, but it does matter which way the boat is turned. You can paddle hard upstream, or you can go with the flow.

It’s your river, your life. Go with it or fight it. Focus on the calm or the crazy. The river flows where your focus goes.

Start your new year in a better state of mind. Go with the flow and give us a call.
