Experiences for a New Year – Money

Here’s 2 exercises that can be used for issues around money. Adapt how you look at them depending on your desired outcome.

First, put a $100 bill in your wallet. (Or imagine one there until you can get one!) As you go through your day, look at it and think of how many things you could have purchased with it if you would have wanted to. If you spent it, you’d only have the good feeling once. Each time you realize you have the power to spend it, allow yourself to feel the sense of financial well-being. Your positive point of focus around abundance will begin to shift.

The second game is equally as interesting and useful to interpret for a variety of money issue outcomes. Imagine on day one you have $1,000 to spend, and that every day you have an additional $1,000 to spend. So on day two, you have $2,000, day 3 you have $3,000 and so on. Keep a progressive log of your expenditures each day. Perhaps you will find that as the numbers grow, you may notice interesting patterns and discover attitudes about money you never realized you had.

If you find that this exercise is difficult, and doesn’t get easier after a few attempts, give me call!
