Why so much Emotional Intelligence?

A few of you have asked why I talk so much about emotional intelligence. Some of you may not know that in addition to being a personal and professional development consultant, I am also a board certified hypnotist for the last 13 years.  This has given me a unique insight into why it is so hard for people to change and how emotion drives all behavior.

So whether I’m working with an individual one-on-one, helping them personally reach their full potential and overcome things that are holding them back, or I’m working with an organization who’s basically experiencing the same thing because those people running the company and working in the company are all humans like the rest of us, right?  So we all have issues. I talk about emotional intelligence because emotion drives behavior.

And so I think it’s really important to note that no matter why someone comes to see me as an individual, they all have different symptoms.  They may be eating too much, or working too much, or drinking too much, or they’ve had trauma, or they’re having relationship problems.  It doesn’t matter. Those are just symptoms.

My specialty is emotional. resolution. And the reason is, as I said, for the third time, because it’s that important in emotions drive behavior.  Everyone sees me, whether you’re an individual or an organization or a company, because of the same thing. There’s a disconnect between what’s consciously wanted and what the subconscious mind believes is possible.  So I bridge that gap in a variety of ways.

So for those of you that are wondering, if you’re looking for hypnosis, if I’m the right provider, I can tell you yes, I am, because you are no different than the other thousands of people I’ve seen over the last 13 years.

And if you’re an organization, it’s pretty much the same thing. You cannot dictate change from the top down very effectively.  The people within the organization must be open to the change and understand the change in order for that to happen.  And then, as a leader, in order to do that, you must understand your own emotions, you must be able to manage them, and you must be able to develop relationships with your employees, vendors, and your customers, – and to do that effectively takes emotional intelligence.
