The Aspects of Emotional Intelligence

Today we’re going to talk about emotional intelligence.

Emotional intelligence is simply your ability to recognize, understand, and manage, and influence your own emotions. When you can do this, this improves your ability to do the same with other people.

Emotional intelligence encompasses several different… areas. The first of which is self-awareness, recognizing your own emotions and how they affect your thoughts and your behavior.

The second is self-regulation. This is how you manage your emotions in a healthy positive way, maintaining control, and also being adaptable.

The third component is motivation. This involves how you use your emotional understanding to pursue. This involves using your emotional understanding to pursue your goals with energy and persistence.

Next is empathy, understanding and being sensitive to the emotions of others allows you to develop and maintain much better personal and professional relationships.

And lastly, emotional intelligence involves social skills. This is maintaining and building healthy relationships, effectively communicating and resolving conflict.

So, emotional intelligence is important in not only your personal relationships and your personal life but also in the workplace for your overall mental health.  And it helps you navigate social complexities and helps you make better and more informed decisions.
