Today we are going to start a series about weight loss. Weight is the purple elephant in the room for a lot of people, myself included.
Weight is a challenging topic for my clients. It doesn’t happen quickly and that can be frustrating and it takes time. Most put on weight slowly, some like me, put it on quickly with a physical illness (70 pounds in 5 months – oops said weeks in the video, sorry!)
Stephen Covey talks about the 3 circles of change. The circle to autonomy, where we have total control of the things we do. The next is the circle of influence, where we have some influence over things, but not directly. The 3rd is the circle of concern, where we have no control at all. I bring this up because weight is similar. There are things we can totally control, things we can influence and things we have no control over at all. when it comes to losing weight, or for some, gaining weight. There are things we can and can’t do.
There are physical factors, mental factors and habits, emotional factors and in this series we’ll explore them one by one.
