I’m Sorry

Last week we talked about the negativity bias. A past client of mine sent me something interesting that I want to share with you and I think it’s a perfect extension of last week’s blog. “I’m sorry.” We use these words in many ways (i’ll talk about another next week), but today we’ll focus on apologizing.
The client wrote, lately I’ve been replacing my “I’m sorry’s” with “thank you’s.” Instead of Sorry I’m late”, I’ll say “Thanks for waiting for me.” Instead of “Sorry for being such a mess”, I’ll say ”Thank you for loving me unconditionally.” It’s not only shifted the way I think and feel about myself, but has also improved my relationships with others who now get to receive my gratitude instead of my negativity.
Awesome! Not much more I can add to that!
