It’s still winter here in Minnesota so I love to use snow as an illustration of perspective. It’s easy to use a situation or another person as an excuse, rather than realize that you have the ability to change the way you respond to anything.
We had a snow storm a couple of weeks ago and I heard a neighbor cursing about shoveling out his car. A friend of mine said, “I’m not gong to make it to work today, but there is a good book I’ve been wanting to finish.” A kid down the block had his sled out and was having the time of his life.
The same snow was the situation for all three. One thought it was a tragedy, the other ‘oh, well’, and the third a blessing. Bottom line, you get to choose!
