Hypnosis and Resilience: Resilience was a buzz word that used to be talked about a lot. As we seek a more normal life after Covid, I wonder how that word will come back into play.
For many, being resilient means being tough, not letting things bother you. A popular coping mechanism is shoving it under the rug. Out of sight, out of mind. I’m fine.
While that gets you through a moment, repeated use of this mechanism eventually results in some type of volcanic explosion down the road – and the exact cause is never known when it happens. It may be smoke, ash or lava, but unpredictability is the common theme. Not if, but when it explodes. And the damage can be emotional, mental or physical. Maybe even a trifecta of these.
On the surface, people seem to be handling the stress relatively well. But lost loved ones, hospitalizations, isolation, work and financial changes and pressures, kids at home, and the list goes on. What is quiet on the surface may be rumbling beneath.
If you’ve been stuffing, reach out today and let us help you release the steam from your internal pressure cooker.
