Hypnosis Research

Many times people will tell me they believe in hypnosis. I’d like to set this straight. It’s not about believing. There is a lot of hypnosis research. Researchers have identified the places in the brain where activity slows or accelerates when a person is in hypnosis, using frmi’s and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

People still argue if hypnosis is a different state of consciousness, and though that’s a much much longer blog, it is safe to say that a persons brain functions differently than in a typical conscious state. The specific areas of the brain that are affected are definitely linked to the benefits hypnosis provides.

It also used to be believed that hypnosis only produced placebo effects. While it is true that placebo effects are a part of many things, the research clearly shows that new neural networks are formed. (In other words, habit changes.)

The efficacy of hypnosis for pain, sleep, habits and many other issues continues to be researched and verified. It is, indeed, an exciting time for hypnotists and our clients.

So you can stop believing in it and know that hypnosis is a natural state of mind. Give us a call and let us help you discover how to put your natural abilities to work for you!
