As the Christmas decorations popped up well before Halloween, we are reminded that it’s that time of the year again. The holiday season is quickly approaching. What should be a time for giving thanks and enjoying time with those we care about, is sometimes dreaded by some. There’s a lot more need for planning and spending and, let’s face it, sometimes the ones were are supposed to love the most just try our patience.
Here’s a few tips to keep yourself focused on the positive (actually that’s step 1!) –
- Breathe! Download the 5,4,3,2,1 relax technique and use it 5 times every day whether you need it or not
- Ask for help and delegate. Don’t play the martyr and sometimes others do have better ideas
- Take time for yourself – exercise, get a massage, read a book
- Get your sleep, and breathe some more!
