Has anyone ever told you that you were being selfish? Chances are, that comment made you feel guilty or even shameful. So much so that you never wanted to feel that way again so you formed a belief that being selfish was bad.
But its not! Go ahead and be self-ISH, be self-centered and self-aware! This is a good thing…
To recognize your wants needs and desires and to do what you can to be happy is a healthy way to live.
A big part of being self-ish and centered is to be aware of your need to feel good about yourself. The best way to do that is by doing good things for others. That always feels good doesn’t it? Another big way is to care for yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. You have to take care of yourself and your own energy before you can help others.
Now being self absorbed is another thing. That’s when your wants, needs and desires are gained at the expense of others. Don’t do that. It’s not fair.
So get out there and do all kinds of things that make you happy! Take care of your true self!
