Practice Finding Your Voice

Practice finding your voice. Sometimes you respond with a socially appropriate answer, not what you really feel – (Did you find everything you wanted – “Yes”; How are you today – “Fine”). May be you don’t want to give them a 10 minutes explanation of your life at the moment or list the 10 things they didn’t have that you came in for, but surprise them with something unexpected – “It’s an amazing day and I hope you are having one, too.”

Do you have trouble saying what you’d really like to say? Imagine someone you really admire, and say what you think they’d say  – and go for that academy award nomination when you do it!

Give a pretend speech to a captive audience, sing to a concert hall of people, growl, bark, meow, cry, scream. Find a sound that resonates with you and make it your version of “ohmmm”.

Oh, and while you are at it, learn how to say no with as much confidence.
