Hypnosis Misinformation

I’m Linda Schutz, a Board Certified Hypnotist at The FARE Hypnosis Center.

Several weeks ago I diagnosed myself with Plantar Fasciitis. I did so by doing a Google search on foot pain. I then watched You Tube videos to confirm my self diagnosis and began to order a bunch of self curing products on Amazon.

Nothing was working. So I went to a podiatrist today and admitted my internet self help course of treatment. The doctor just shook his head and said “The internet can be very helpful but you don’t always get the correct information or advice.” He also said that a lot of what he has read on the internet leaves him baffled at it’s inaccuracy.

As a hypnotist, I can wholeheartedly relate to everything he was saying. Typically, when a client first walks in the door of our office, they have already done their internet search. They have read articles, watched You Tube videos and quite a few movies and TV shows about hypnosis. Thank you Hollywood for all your misinformation!

When you don’t know anything about hypnosis or podiatry for that matter, you have no idea what is accurate information and what is not.

When searching for a hypnotist, by all means do some searching on the internet. It’s a great place to start. Then make an appointment, sit down with a hypnotist, ask questions about the process, their level of training and certification.

That is the best way to get accurate information so you can decide if hypnosis is the right path for you.

I’m Linda Schutz, helping you take back control, by unlocking the power of your mind to reach your goals of any kind.
