It’s that time of the year when we are told we should recognize the things we are thankful for in our life. Hmm…shouldn’t this be a daily practice? Anyway, many are often doing the opposite – thinking about the negative things in their life.
The brain IS hard wired to look for harmful things, so it’s natural that we do this. But it’s not very productive or even good for us. What we focus on expands.
So when you do find yourself looking at the negative, ask yourself, “What is the benefit to me of this?” Then focus on that.
When we recognize what we don’t want or don’t like, what we want in our life becomes much more clear.
