Blame and Responsibility

Some times you may find yourself in a situation that makes you uncomfortable. Perhaps friends want to go bike riding, but you blame your ‘bad knees’ as an excuse because you really think you can’t keep up.

Because your doctor has told you that you will forever have weight issues because of your thyroid problems – why not chow down on lots of unhealthy food?

Or blame your older age on losing your job to the millennial that they don’t have to pay as much, when you really never kept up with new tech skills.

In blaming others, conditions and situations, you attempt to shift responsibility and therefore, give up your power to control your life and your health. No one makes you feel bad, you are the one that chooses to feel a certain way. This may save you in a moment, but over time begins to feel like you have no control over anything.

You get to choose – a momentary consequence, or a lifetime of feeling out of control……
