Today I’d like to talk about how to make a more meaningful life for yourself and improve the world at large at the same time.
Where do you get your beliefs? Well, believe it or not, most are formed at a very young age. They come from the influential people in your life, parents, teachers, ministers, etc and from experiences you have.
Some beliefs serve you well at the time they are formed and many times they are misperceived in some way. As you get older, these beliefs may no longer serve you, or you realize that they are no longer in alignment with who you are.
Often these old beliefs get triggered by events that happen in your life or in the world around you. It can cause uncomfortable and sometimes destructive emotions which may lead to destructive behaviors.
It’s important to make sure that you clean house of some of these beliefs every once in a while. Ask yourself why you think and believe the things you do. So some introspection on where these ideas came from. Ask yourself if they still make sense for you to hold on to or if perhaps you could be open to a different perspective or understanding.
