The purpose of these weekly videos is to bring more visibility to the profession of hypnosis, bust the myths that Hollywood and stage shows have created about how it works, and to educate you about it’s important benefits. 

So let’s start with the name of my practice. FARE is an acronym for:

Focus – what you focus on expands. When the same behaviors keep producing the same results you don’t want, it’s time to examine your focus.

Association – when your thoughts and images are similar in nature to your focus, your mind begins to connect everything to that focus.

Repetition – whatever you repeat often enough, and believe passionately enough, will become the truth in your mind.

Expectation – You get exactly what you expect you will, and your subconscious will filter out anything to the contrary.

These are the FARE laws of the mind – how your mind works. In hypnosis we start with the expectation you want, then work on repeating and connecting different images, thoughts and behaviors to a more positive focus.

I was getting my nails done and there was an advertisement for a show called My Lottery Dream Home. A few days later I was in Target and I saw these glasses, like in the commercial and they called to me!) It inspired me to reflect on the idea of abundance.

You can view your world in one of two ways – Abundance or the lack of it. The first law of the mind is focus (the F in FARE) – what you focus on expands. 

Where do you want to put your focus? On the abundance you want in life, or your perception of the lack of it? Use the power of your imagination and focus on what you want. Visualize it. Surround yourself with images of it. Be it. 2nd law or the mind is Associate, so set up those positive triggers.

Repeat is the 3rd law – keep doing this. And finally, the 4th law: You get exactly what you Expect you will.

On any specific issue, are you satisfied with where you are? This is an important question because if you are not satisfied with it, and you continue to think about it as it is, nothing can change. What you focus on expands in your awareness and your mind will filter out anything contrary to that expectation. (see this old blog post on the 4 laws of the mind)

If you are not satisfied with something, the best thing to do is to imagine what it is that you really want, focus on that, then take inspired action to get there. When you start expecting things to happen as you want them, it’s amazing how that persistence will pay off!

Today I’d like to talk about where the name FARE Hypnosis came from. FARE is an acronym that stands for the 4 laws of the mind. We use these laws of our mind to your advantage in hypnosis.

F stands for focus. What you focus on expands so in hypnosis we focus on the solutions, not the problems. If you are getting results that you don’t want, it’s time to look at what you are focusing on.

A is for associate. When your thoughts and images are similar in nature to your focus they act as triggers to that behavior. We want to eliminate triggers that are reinforcing unwanted behaviors.

R is for repeat. When you repeat something often enough and invest passion in it, it becomes your belief, your truth in life. We want to be sure that your belief serves you well in reaching your goals.

E is for expect. You get exactly what you expect and will filter out anything to the contrary. We want to make sure your expectations are in line with your goals.

When this work is done at the subconscious level – home to your beliefs and emotions – change is very powerful!
