I want to remind you that hypnosis is a natural state of mind. You go in and out of hypnosis everyday, usually multiple times, but at least twice a day. When you go to sleep and in the morning wake up, you have to pass through the trance states.

Hypnosis was very helpful in alleviating some of the symptoms for the clients I have seen with Fibromyalgia. Once again, we find stress as an underlying condition that made their symptoms worse. It was also effective in managing the pain that these clients experienced. There are many issues that these clients shared: the expectation of pain, the effects it had on their ability to work or function in everyday life, and the stress that came from worrying about all of this. As you all know, what we focus on expands, so giving these clients the tools to be able to shift their focus, calm their thoughts, and control their pain has gone a long way in helping them take back some control in their lives. I’m Roberta Fernandez, a Board Certified Hypnotist and Certified Trainer at The FARE Hypnosis Center, located in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Let us help you take back control by unlocking the power of your mind to reach your goals of any kind.

I’ve had multiple female clients ask if hypnosis can help with menstrual cramps or hot flashes in menopause. While I don’t treat or ‘cure’ any physical ailment, I have had very good success in helping these clients have less discomfort, less frequently. Shifting your focus to something else - remember, what we focus on expands - and use of the imagination is extremely important in these situations. Your brain cannot tell the difference between what is vividly imagined and what is real, so concentrating on something else and placing yourself in a relaxed, balanced environment can really do the trick! A client from Minnetonka and I were recently discussing how our busy lifestyles have deprived us of the ability to truly relax. Like many of the clients I see, this person worked long hours all week and filled her spare time with all of the things she had to do in her personal life. There seemed to be no room for down time of any kind. Even while watching tv with the kids at night, she was multitasking - hemming pants, making lists or working/playing on her phone. After a few sessions, this client learned not only the value of true relaxation - she’s calmer and more productive - but has also reconnected with her ability to really do it. She’s working up to one self hypnosis session of 15 minutes a day and re-focuses herself with 2-3 minute sessions throughout her busy day to rejuvenate.
