Holiday Stress


As the Christmas decorations popped up well before Halloween, we are reminded that it’s that time of the year again. The holiday season is quickly approaching. What should be a time for giving thanks and enjoying time with those we care about, is sometimes dreaded by some. There’s a lot more need for planning and spending and, let’s face it, sometimes the ones were are supposed to love the most just try our patience.

Here’s a few tips to keep yourself focused on the positive (actually that’s step 1!) –

  • Breathe! Download the 5,4,3,2,1 relax technique and use it 5 times every day whether you need it or not
  • Ask for help and delegate. Don’t play the martyr and sometimes others do have better ideas
  • Take time for yourself – exercise, get a massage, read a book
  • Get your sleep, and breathe some more!
