I’m Linda Schutz, a Board Certified Hypnotist at The FARE Hypnosis Center in Eden Prairie, MN.
Let’s talk about what’s been happening this past month – the tragic events hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, and the shootings in Las Vegas. It’s difficult to take in.
Like many of you I’ve watched the news and social media, absorbing all of that pain and heartache. It leaves me feeling sad and powerless. What can I do to help these people so far away? How can I make a difference in this world?
And of course is the obvious donating money and blood. Donating blood locally helps re-supply the national blood supply. You can do this all year.
So what else can we do to turn the heartache around? We can think good thoughts. I know that sounds really trivial, but just stay with me for a few minutes. Each of us can help improve the environment around us. If we each took care of our own little space in the world it would be a much happy world. Do simple things: smile at someone in the grocery store; allow that car in front of you to get in the lane; give your loved ones an extra hug; volunteer in your community. Practice compassion all the time.
These thoughts and actions are all energy and we all feel the energy around us from other. What kind of energy do you want to surround yourself with? It is unfortunate but true that tragedy often brings out the best in people.
So go out there. Be your best. Have a wonderful day. And be compassionate.
